Voodoo Child

Voodoo Child

Could you imagine what Jimi Hendrix would say if he knew about the local cafe known as Voodoo Child? If he were still alive, he would probably show up and play an acoustic show every now again - I mean, a girl can dream, right?

Voodoo Child is a cozy cocktail and espresso bar located in the ever so popular Kensington Market at 388 College Street, Toronto, ON. The cafe features a wide variety of coffees, teas, baked goods, and unique cocktails served seven days a week.

ENVIRONMENT
Although the name may sound spooky to some, you can rest easy because it isn't a spooky cafe at all. The theme is a general rustic styled cafe with dark coloured menus to compliment the white walls and wooden furniture. The cafe also has an inviting picnic style bench where customers can gather with complete strangers to enjoy a beverage of their choice. Patrons are also invited to sit by the bar to chat with friends, or even the baristas - they're all super friendly, so don't be afraid to say hello!

The music is also quite calm and serene, but each barista puts a spin on the playlist based on their personality. Don't worry, you won't be hearing heavy metal or gothic rock here - it's the perfect place to kick back with a book. The cafe is also a recommended study spot for university and college kids near by (because we know where to find the best caffeine for that back to school grind).

FEATURED MENU ITEMS
If you're going to load up on espresso, you may as well do it the right way and order yourself a cappuccino or an iced latte. Both drinks are simply decadent - they fill you up with a strong shot of espresso that will leave you wanting more.

If that doesn't entice you, maybe the latte art will, because Voodoo Child has some major Instagram worthy shots. The cafe actually has some of Toronto's best latte artists.

One of the featured summer specials that you can find at Voodoo Child is their Naughty Bandit. The drink is made from a house made blackberry syrup, soda, a double shot of espresso and a v-beckham favourite cocktail.
