About the Author
I have always romanticized the idea of sitting in a coffee shop, sipping on an americano and typing away on my overly expensive laptop. Truth be told, I still romanticize this idea. One of my hobbies includes trying to find the perfect café to make this fantasy a reality, but in all honesty, I'm too busy trying to tune the excessively loud indie music, the sound of the blender and the relentless banter of teenagers sipping on a frappuccino for the third time that day!
*deep breathes, Megan.. deep breathes*
In a nutshell, this is what being a young adult in all about. Pre-adulthood is fantasizing about the freedom of being a 20-something year old, while actual adulthood is realizing that you're now a full-fledged adult with 1000 different "blenders" buzzing around your head.

I have always wanted to start a blog but didn't really feel the need to treat it as my "diary." It wasn't until I went to my first real interview that I felt a sense of nostalgia on my commute back home. It had hit me, I was an adult - game over.
"Get your life together, Megan!" screamed my conscious.
But I didn't just want to "get my life together," I wanted to do something more than just follow the “path” to success.
On that bus ride home, I realized that there are 1000s of young adults, just like me, sitting alone wondering if this is it? I can assure you - it's not. If you're anything like me, you might be feeling boxed in - as though you have to pick something right away and make that your career. It's really tough and frustrating, but just keep in mind that you're still growing and creating a better version of yourself as each day passes. That's what got me through my first few months of 2016 - the fact that I now had the opportunity to do whatever I wanted amused me. So although we all may be 20 something year olds fumbling around with our phones, searching for the next ice cream shop to post on Instagram - we're growing up and that’s kinda cool too.
With that being said, welcome to my blog. I hope to use this blog as a platform for self expression, the stories of others and other miscellaneous things.
Sincerely,
The Awkward Adult
